President

Carrie is a native of Williamstown, a graduate of both Mt. Greylock and Williams College, and a former dancer herself. Her elder daughter, DJ, danced with BDT in High School; her younger daughter, Catherine, has been dancing with BDT for 13 years (as of 2019). Carrie works at Williams College as the Director of Commencement and Academic Events. She served on the Mt. Greylock Regional School Committee for nearly ten years and on the School Building Committee during a major renovation/rebuild for the District. In 2016, she was awarded the Scarborough-Salomon-Flynt Community Service Award by the town of Williamstown. She was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Massachusetts Association of School Committees that same year, and was inducted as a Life Member in that organization in 2019. She is pleased to have served on the Berkshire Dance Theatre Board of Directors since fall 2015.

Vice President

Meghan Labbee is the Company Manager for Visual and Performing Arts and has been Intern Coordinator at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) since May 2004.  For three years prior to taking this position, she served as the Assistant Box Office Manager at MASS MoCA.  Since 2001, she has been a proud and active alumnus of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), from which she received a BA degree in the Fine & Performing Arts with a concentration in Arts Management and a double minor in Music and Business Management – Accounting. In 2009, Meghan became a graduate of the Berkshire Leadership Program (BLP) through the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, and is now a senior member of BLP's Steering Committee. She has been a member of BDT's Board of Directors since April 2013, and has been the Board Minute Recorder since October 2013 and Secretary since February 2014.

Secretary

Kirsten is the Assistant Director at the Milne Public Library in Williamstown, MA. She lives in Williamstown with her husband and daughter. She has a BA from Williams College and an MSLIS from Drexel University. She also serves on the Steering Committee for the Northern Berkshire Chorale. Her daughter Elena has been dancing at BDT since she was 3 years old. She joined the Board of Directors in 2019. 

Treasurer

Emma Whittum is an early-career arts administrative professional and a native to Williamstown. She began and cultivated her dance education at Berkshire Dance Theatre where she danced for 14 years and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Muhlenberg College '19 with two minors in Spanish and Dance. She has worked for numerous arts organizations in the area including Jacob’s Pillow, the Clark, Williams College and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. She is currently the Business Manager for the Williamstown Theatre Festival, where she has spent all her summers since 2017, and additionally is the House Manager for the Williams College Theatre Department in the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance, the Financial Assistant for The Print Shop Williamstown and volunteers locally at Images Cinema. Emma joined the Board of Directors in 2020.

Board Member

Taylor moved to the Berkshires for college in 2014, and has been immersing herself in the community ever since. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 2018, earning her BA in Arts Management and Marketing. Taylor is now the Artist Services Assistant for the Performing Arts + Film at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts, where she works alongside artists of all kinds. She is passionate about the arts, and our local Berkshire community. Taylor joined the Board of Directors 2021.

Board Member

Gina grew up in East Greenbush, NY, and moved to North Bennington, Vermont in 2004. She became a part of the Berkshire Dance Community, as a parent of a young dancer who moved from another studio in 2013. Her daughter is currently a dancer with BDT in multiple genres of dance. Gina received her Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Hudson Valley Community College, and studied for her Bachelor’s in Communication at The College of Saint Rose. She has spent most of her career working with people, and currently works in Bennington, Vermont in Human Resources as an Associate Relations Manager for approximately 120 associates. Her hobbies include walking, reading, attending live performances, and “beach time” whenever possible. Gina joined the Board of Directors in 2023. 

Board Member

Juliet Mazzola is originally from Bennington, Vermont, where she began her ballet training at Berkshire Dance Theatre. She has spent summers studying at the Boston Ballet School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School, Colorado Ballet, BalletX, Arch Contemporary Ballet, and The Workshop Series. She also studied as a Trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School her senior year of high school. In 2018, Juliet graduated from The Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase College with a BFA in Dance and Concentration in Ballet. While studying at Purchase she spent a semester abroad at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She has performed many works by various renowned artists including George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, Silas Farley, Stephen Pier, Michelle Thompson Ulerich, Bettijane Sills, Iratxe Ansa and Taryn Russell. Juliet began her professional career in 2018 as a Company Artist with Ballet Hartford. For the 2019 season Juliet and seven other professional dancers co-founded
and co-directed their own company, New England Ballet Collective, where she was Company Artist and President. During her time with New England Ballet Collective Juliet aided the company in its mission to make dance affordable and accessible to audiences across the New England region, through committed community outreach and affordable ticket prices. 

Board Member

Erica currently works in the Finance Department at Adams Community Bank. She grew up in Savoy and Adams. After attending college in New Hampshire she moved to Chicopee and Springfield. An opportunity arose for her to work back in Pittsfield and be closer to home, and she moved back without a second thought. Although Erica did not grow up dancing, she loves attending the recitals and watching her niece dance with BDT! She's an avid lover of the outdoors, gardening, .and snowmobiling. Erica joined the Board of Directors in 2023.

Board Member

Lisa is currently an athletic trainer at Southern Vermont Orthopedics. She has worked as an athletic trainer at Williams college for over 20 years, along with working as a fitness instructor most of her life. Lisa had a masters degree in Athletic Training from Indiana State University. A bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Cardiovascular Health and Exercise from Northeastern University.  She is a also certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She lives in north Adams and has been a long time dancer with the Berkshire Dance Theatre. Lisa joined the Board of Directors in 2023.
